FORT WILDERNESS
At the far end of Wilderness Road stands Fort Wilderness—the outpost of civilization. The time is the War of 1812…the United States flag has only 15 stars.
Within the gates there is a Canteen and Trading Post—stocked with pelts, guns, knives, and Indian craft.
In the Regimental Hdqrs., Davy Crockett and George Russell, U.S. Army Scouts, can be seen reporting to Maj. General Andrew Jackson during the Cherokee Indian Campaign.
From the parapets and block houses can be seen the vast untamed American wilderness…the deer, moose, bear and wildlife of the primitive forest.
Beyond the stockade are tepees…hostile Indians on the warpath. A settler’s cabin burns in the distance…mute evidence of a treacherous attack.

That made me laugh so hard I'm willing to forget about the many historical inaccuracies.
Long live Fort Wilderness!
Turned injun dinga!
Ah, and there is the fugitive Pancho, hiding out in his...Hideout.
Love it, love it!
It's good to be a kid, (or in Jim's case, a kid at heart)
Now.........someone back home is saying....."why don't he write?"
Daaah, da da daaah, daah, da-da. Da-da, daah, daaah, da-da, daah, daaaaah...
Bad Paunee
Papa and Connie had the kids totally convinced that bears would be sleeping out back this winter. Connie said she wrote a letter to the North Pole asking some Polar Bears to come visit for their hibernation. Papa said it meant you can't screw around 'cause they'll eat you. Nice.
That's it. You guys started it, now you have to finish it. If you don't provide polar bears in Fort Wilderness this winter, the kids (as well as I) will never believe in anything ever again.
Hmmm.........Polar Bears at Christmastime.
It could happen.
Stay tuned.
I enjoy the fact that even stampeding, war mongering savages take the time to stop and set up their tepees. Screw the element of surprise...they know they're going to need a nap after the slaughter. Such foresight.
Well said Kara.
Fot inquiring minds, the da da's are, of course, from "The Last of the Mohicans".
Not one of you even asked.
((wipes tear))
Sue-
That's cause we [i] knew what the da da's were... If live with James long enough, you pick up these things.
You're the coolest guy I know. Period.
